Sea an Outdoor in Blue and Green Wedding Sara and James
Designer Lela Rose, a friend of the bride, took Sara’s sketch of the dress she envisioned for her wedding and created a romantic V-neck satin gown with a tatted lace overlay. A cathedral-length veil, sandals by Jimmy Choo and diamond earrings finished her look. James and his nine groomsmen wore their own navy blazers and cream gabardine pants with ties by Vineyard Vines
“The sea of white parasols by the harbor looked dramatic in the photographs,” says the bride. Sara loved the blue hydrangea bushes at Harbour Court, so Little Compton, RI-based floral designer Sayles Livingston used them wherever possible. She covered the ceremony trellis with the blooms and arranged them in containers that hung from the chairs along the aisle.
For her bridesmaids, Sara chose chiffon dresses with rose detailing by Lela Rose.

Cocktail hour brought more entertainment—a fun 1920s band—and before guests moved to the tent for filet mignon and crabcakes, they picked up their hand-painted scalloped shell escort cards from an elaborate shell-adorned sandbox.

A vanilla and lemon cake by local baker Scrumptions—designed to match Sara’s lace gown—followed dinner, but the newlyweds enjoyed their slices later on, aboard their getaway boat. Needless to say, their first voyage was a sweet one.
