A Romantic City Real Weddings in Chicago, IL
A chic ballroom sets the tone for a downtown affair filled with luxurious details. This After Gino’s romantic wintertime proposal in the Chicago Botanic Garden, the couple decided to wed four months later, during Easter weekend. Shanley wore a silk organza gown by Oscar de la Renta, purchased from Ultimate Bride. “It was the first and only dress I tried on,” she says (above). Below, the bouquet she carried featured white ranunculuses, roses, and tulips, and her two bridesmaids carried bouquets of pink roses, cymbidium orchids, and seeded eucalyptus. All flowers by Kehoe Designs.
A chic lounge with white sofas, beaded pillows, mirrored tables, and centerpieces of floating candles offered guests an intimate space for socializing during the reception.

Guests, directed by hand-lettered escort cards, were seated at tables decorated with tall arrangements of lilies, roses, and hydrangeas.

Later, guests enjoyed sweets from a dessert station (all catering was provided by the hotel), as well as slices of the wedding cake, which was designed to mimic the cascading ruffles of Shanley’s gown.
